Usually fiberglass woven roving is often used for shipbuilding, and fiberglass plain cloth is more used for ship repair.
Fiberglass boats consist of braids alternated with any number of resins such as polyester, vinylester or epoxy.

 and generally lower cost compared to other shipbuilding materials.
